Qatar will be hosting the World Cup in 2022! (Typical Lebanese reaction: “3ayyeshna lal 2022!” roughly translates to “Let’s see if we’re still alive in 2022″)

I used to live in Qatar a couple of years ago and attended the Asian Olympics there. They did an amazing job!

I really don’t know who posts those news but i am quite sure no one bothers reading or checking them. According to lebanonfiles, a Syrian individual by the name of Abdul Nasser Ahmad was trying to run away from the Lebanese police when one of the policemen shot two bullets in the air as a warning. However (here comes the interesting part), Ahmad bent down trying to hide, which caused one of the bullets to pierce a wallet he had on his back and cut through his backbone. He was rushed to the hospital but died.

A bullet going up in the air and back into the guy’s back? Really?

Last time i saw such a thing was when Captain Majed was trying to defeat Bassam!

Huntley Archives just uploaded a video of Lebanon dating back to 1968 and really does look like a scene out of Mad Men. This video doesn’t have any sound but its street shots taken I think in Beirut and the downtown area. I love how nearly all the men are wearing suits! They will be uploading more videos of Lebanon and once they do will post them here. [YouTube]

…just in case the Special Tribunal for Lebanon comes up with a verdict that is not to the liking of certain political parties.

Apparently the indictment is to be issued in the coming few days and everyone is saying the shit is gonna hit the fan!

In my previous post, i mentioned they removed the categories related to the ministers and member of parliaments from the ISF website. However, you could still check the single digit numbers without a symbol (bidoun ramez) and see if they have been speeding or not.

Elie pointed out the president Michel Sleiman has got 8 speeding ticket which proved to be correct. Nabih Berri (#2) has three tickets to his name. Saad Hariri on the other has been driving more carefully and has none. Of course we cannot really blame their convoys for speeding as there’s a security threat on almost every single politician in Lebanon, however i would prefer if their bodyguards or drivers would slow it down when they are by themselves and not think they are above everyone else.
