From 23 to 27 April, Medawwar in Beirut is hosting the Baskil Festival, a celebration of everything the bicycle represents, from community, sustainability, sport and fun. There’s a fun ride on Sunday around the Medawwar area for those who like to bike.

Wednesday 23rd – Sunday 27th April:
‘The Good City’ exhibition in Medawwar Public Garden. Showing the success of bicycle-based city planning in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Wednesday 23rd April:
Press conference and official opening of the Festival by Rolf M. Hay Pereira Holmboe, the Danish Ambassador in Beirut.

Friday 25th April:
EXCHANGE EVENING – picnics, presentations and discussions in the garden. Come hear about the success story of Deghri Messengers دغري, learn about the power of bikes to transform cities and discuss how it can be done in Beirut.

Saturday 26th April:
MAKING DAY – bring your bike, fix it, paint it and give it new life. With the help of ريغار Regar and.
AND STREET FESTIVAL – BMX gangs, skater crews, street artists, buskers and dancers will come together and fill Medawwar with colour.

Sunday 27th April:
RIDING DAY – join fun rides exploring the Medawwar area, and participate in a special Baskil-edition ride around Beirut.
