Foursquare in Lebanon

I got an iPhone over the weekend and downloaded some apps including foursquare. If you don’t know what Foursquare is here is a summary from Wikipedia:

Foursquare is available to users with GPS-enabled mobile devices, such as smartphones. Users “check-in” at venues using a mobile website, text messaging or a device-specific application by running the application and selecting from a list of venues that the application locates nearby. Each check-in awards the user points and sometimes “badges”.

So I was trying the app out and I saw that there are some local businesses participating on Foursquare and providing offers. For example if you check in at the Beirut Airport you get 10% off on all the perfumes which is a pretty good deal.

There aren’t many offers in Beirut yet but I’m sure you would find a ton of deals in the US and Europe where the app is a lot more popular. I’m definitely trying Foursquare the next time I travel.
