I had posted some 3 months ago about the Jounieh memorial I spotted on the highway [Link]. Today I confirmed it was indeed a Pieta in memory of someone who died on this highway.
I wonder if he was trying to cross the highway when this happened or if it was a car accident. You would have to be out of your mind to try and cross this highway during the day.
I feel really sorry for the guy who passed away, especially that he looks very young. but honestly, I didn’t like the idea of putting a memorial in the middle of the highway. Plus last week I spotted a huge billboard right in front of the memorial with the photo of the guy written under it (Chaheed al Sayr fi loubnan) and inviting people for his 1 year memorial… I donno it just looks weird…

especially under the bridge, but the point is, in the location where Rami (I guess that’s his name) crossed the street, you don’t see many bridges for the pedestrian in the area(unless I’m mistaken). So it is either get killed or spend half your day trying to find a safe crossing point!
