Lebanon police conduct anal probes on 36 men from gay porn cinema

In the austere police station, after they are asked to undress, they are told to lean forward or crouch, submitting to a medical examination to determine their sexual orientation. Who are they? People suspected of homosexuality, a punishable offense in Lebanon, a country considered far more tolerant than other Arab countries. [LeMonde]

This is an excerpt from LeMonde’s article on the gay community in Lebanon written back in June 2012. The same “examination” described above was performed on the 36 men arrested few days ago “for alleged gay debauchery after MTV show unveiled activity in porn cinemas“. Here’s another article on this matter [Link].

What a shameful country we live in.

      Says who????

They would not “waste their precious time” staring at strangers’ buttholes for no reason :D

you know, it takes a thief to catch a thief.

By the by, this vaguely reminds me of the rumors of a scandal involving some high-ranking personalities and famous artists quite some time ago (nineties..), and back then, SLCHI Na3eem Haléwé created a sketch in reference where he played the role of a musician who lost his musical instrument -an Organ- and was roaming the street asking everyone “الأورغي فيين؟؟؟” (Egyptian accent)..
and if my memory does not fail me, this lead to his arrest by a passing cop… and he was the ONLY one to get (wrongfully) busted in the case :)

Just a hint of how Justice is served in our FarmLand..

While the modern world makes advancements in civil rights.. Lebanon goes backwards.

Way to stop those evil gays from corrupting our perfect utopian Lebanon. Now That the gays are being taken care of, Lebanon’s troubles are now something of the past.

You would think there weren’t bigger problems in Lebanon that they would just focus on these stuff!
I love how all the comments are gay related. Shows how narrow-minded and backwards people are.

You were being sarcastic. Didn’t say you weren’t. You could check out the post on MTV/Joe Maalouf and understand what I meant.

But if it’s a semi-public spot that caters to sexual activities, and all involved are aware of this, then it shouldn’t be against the law. Sex clubs, cinemas, bookshops, etc. etc. are all over the place in Europe and North America.
