The 2018 Global Competitiveness Report is out and Lebanon has ranked 80th out of 140 countries, which is a major improvement from last year’s 101st spot but there are still a lot of worrying indicators such as:

Negative Indicators:
– Terrorism incidence (119/140)
– Future orientation of government (126/140)
– Incidence of corruption (120/140)
– Intellectual property protection (120/140)
– Quality of roads (127/140)
– Efficiency of train services (What trains?) (129/140)
– Reliability of water supply (136/140)
– Debt dynamics (130/140)
– Cost of starting a business % GNI per capita (124/140)

On the other hand, here are some positive indicators:
– Skillset of graduates (25/140)
– Digital skills among population (22/140)
– International co-inventions (47/140)
– ICT Adoption (59/140)
