Lebanon bans “Red, White and the Green”
Lebanon has banned a screening of Iranian documentary “Red, White and the Green,” which deals with violence in the weeks before the 2009 presidential election, an organizer announced Sunday.
“Lebanese censorship authorities on Friday informed us we would have to pull Iranian director Nader Davoodi’s film ‘Red, White and the Green’ from our program and today we were informed that Davoodi would not be allowed to travel to Lebanon,” said Colette Naufal, director of the Beirut International Film Festival which runs from October 5 to 13. I am curious to know what was the reason for banning this Iranian movie.

According to the article on Naharnet, it wasn’t banned, the censorship authorities wanted to watch the movie first so the film festival committee decided to remove it from the festival.
Also the picture you’ve posted is not from the same movie but a different red, white and green movie. Well if they will not allow its screening now, there is little chance it will make it to the theaters.
You are right about Al Arabiya. I thought it was a reliable source cause I saw it’s taken from AFP. Turns out they took everything except the picture.

What do you expect from a country with a pro-Iranian regime support?
Same thing happened when Moroccan Jew Gad Elmaleh was banned from performing in Lebanon.

Why would they pull it? Wouldn’t it have been better to check and see if the censorship authorities would ban it or not?

Have you for a moment thought about that the existing HA influenced and controlled government exerted pressure for them to pull the film? Have you? It takes the pressure of anyone accusing HA…Wake up dude.
