Even if Nelson Mandela is not Lebanese, he’s one of the greatest leaders the world has ever witnessed and he deserves to be mourned in every country for what he stood for but my question is: Why didn’t the Lebanese government declare a mourning day for Wadih el Safi when he passed away?

So you’re comparing Wadih El Safi to Mandela? aLthough Wadih el Safi represents a lot here, he did not do a tenth of what Mandela did.

No one is comparing Safi to Mandela. Wadih el Safi is a legend in Lebanese Music and in the Middle East though and the least the government should do is mourn him officially, specially when they are mourning non-Lebanese.
on other note, Mr Mikati went to south africa for mandella’s funeral … but he cant go to dekwaneh for Wadih l safi’s funeral 🙂 anyway who cares
wadih el safi don’t need to be mourned , he isn’t dead he is still present we will always remember him when listening to his songs.
in my opinion we shouldn’t mourn anyone , he’s maybe in a better place than us now
