Lina’s Cafe Kaslik on a Sunday Afternoon

One of the typical Lebanese show off places on the weekend is Lina’s Cafe at Kaslik on a Sunday afternoon. Its become the place to show off with your car, your clothes, your bags and you sit and talk about what you did Saturday evening and gossip about what happened during your weekend. It is such a cliché tradition where all Lebanese show offs like to do after a nice long weekend. The valets will park the best cars in front of the café (by best I mean Audi R8, Porsche Turbos, F430′s etc…) and the girls will come fully loaded with make up and designer clothes. Men with cigars and drinks, ladies having a glass of wine or coffee…

If you’ve never experienced it you should. I passed by Lina’s yesterday with my girlfriends (for the only reason that one of them is pregnant and wanted an open area coffee shop close by Jounieh) and it was a very funny experience.

Thanks for making us discovering Lebanese lifestyle
So I guess it’s this Lina: http://www.linaslb.com/website/Linas/. Sounds like a place that expands a lot (Paris, etc)

I was driving a 1995 Mercedes Benz, you pay the guy up front $10 or $20 and they park it up front! There are a few spots like that in Lebanon where people go to show off the cars!

    I love Lina’s. I love their sandwiches :D
Anywho I like the ABC branch. I go there in the morning to have my coffee and sometimes at noon to have lunch. Kaslik is a show-off area by nature ;) It’s not the same thing at ABC. Well it is, but there’s a competitor downstairs, La Mie Dorée, which is 24/7 fully loaded with the ‘tantes’ of Achrafieh and the “jeunesse libanaise”. I like their desserts and limonades :D :D
