New Rules in Gemmayze

After the strike in Gemmayze which took place on 26th March 2010, new rules came up last week which are considered the greatest for the inhabitants of Gemmayze but very unfortunate for us…Gemmayze pubs officially started closing at 12am during week days and can max close at 1am during the weekend. I was there on Saturday night and I ‘ve seen the police roaming around at 1am to fine the clubs which will not obey to the new rules.
Bad news hit some other pubs which were closed “bel chame3 el a7mar” because they did not pass the security measurements and standards e.g: fire exit, music volume, etc… some of these pubs are like Sepia, intuition and others which I can’t recall right now. Dommage!

wow that sucks! In any case I always preferred drinking in the pubs during the afternoon, much calmer.
Sepia was closed ??? no way !
They took such measures few months ago and then loosened up and let pubs reopen and stay late.
Honestly, i dont think the problem are the pubs here. The real problem are the drunk people who annoy the Gemmayze habitants and the traffic inside Gemmayze.
The solution is very simple bass ma 7ada bifakkir
- Let a touristic police patrol in gemmayze after midnight and pull all the drunks and throw them for a night in jail.
- Ban circulation in gemmayze and open Charles el Helou parking with buses as transportation. This was a plan suggested earlier and not yet implemented. There are tons of parking spots in DT as well, which are at 10 minutes walk from Gemmayze.

This is badddd for business..I would be a very unhappy person if I owned a bar in Gemmayze right about now..
I’m sure they get most of their business from people who stay after midnight,,and are too drunk to realize they just bought the entire bar a round..
What do you think this means for the future of Gemmayze? Will Monot pick up again?
