The Lebanese Army has been advised by the UNIFIL to withdraw from its positions on the Southern border as the Israeli army is planning an imminent ground invasion. It’s still not clear when this attack will take place but AFP mentioned today that Israel had informed the US of limited ground operations in Lebanon and large numbers of Israeli tanks and support vehicles are already present on the border with Lebanon.

In addition to that, the Israeli army declared today a number of border settlements with Lebanon “closed military zones”, ahead of its planned incursions. It’s still not clear whether the Israeli army will conduct limited operations or is planning a broader incursion but this move will only escalate the situation even further.
