Two Hotlines to Follow up On Missing Family Members in Syrian Prisons

Following the downfall of the Assad regime, hundreds of names and pictures of Lebanese detainees are being shared on social media channels and families are clinging to hope as more and more prisoners are being freed. Two days ago, Salim Hamwi was freed after 33 years and went back to his hometown in Chekka.

However, the fate of the 700+ other missing Lebanese remains unknown and two organizations, ICRC Lebanon & Act for the disappeared, are working hard to gather information and hopefully bring the detainees back to their families. I urge all concerned families to get in touch them, I’m sharing their contact information below:

ICRC Lebanon: 01 727727

Act for the disappeared: 71 096643
