Lebanon24 reported last week that the Beirut Bar Association has agreed to send 500 lawyers to all Lebanese prisons on December 22 in an attempt to determine which prisoners:
1- Don’t have a lawyer yet.
2- Are still jailed despite serving their sentence
3- Need a minimal financial support to bail out
The lawyers will also prepare a detailed report on all prisons and prisoners.
I couldn’t find any confirmation on this initiative but I really hope it takes place as it’s much needed.
