Berri Says President Trump Signed a Written Pledge to End War at a Lebanese Restaurant in Michigan

It appears that Speaker Nabih Berri’s hopes of securing a ceasefire in Lebanon rely on a piece of paper newly elected US President Donald Trump signed at a Lebanese restaurant in Michigan. Speaking to Mustaqbal Web News portal, he said that Trump had signed a written pledge to secure a ceasefire in Lebanon, in case he wins, at Hassan Abbas restaurant in Dearborn.

Trump did mention he wants to see the Middle East return to a real and long-lasting peace, but it’s up to us and Berri specifically to ensure we have a functioning state to be able to maintain this peace. We need to elect a president ASAP, to have one strong and unified Lebanese army, and we need a new government capable of implementing UN resolutions and deploying the army in the South.

Needless to say, Berri is a big part of the problem right now and the only chance of a ceasefire right now is if our rotten political class agrees yet to another deal at the expense of the Lebanese people.
