Lebanese world renowned couturier Elie Saab held a spectacular fashion show in Riyadh this week to celebrate 45 years of his fashion career, which he described as being “a culmination of generations of fashion, rooted in traditions that preceded him, and which he had the privilege of reinvigorating and evolving.”
One of the key highlights of this star-studded fashion show was Celine Dion’s return on stage, as she wore a gold embroidered cape gown and performed two songs in front of over 1000 guests to close out the show. The Canadian singer had been struggling from a rare neurological disorder that causes debilitating muscle spasms, forcing her to step away from singing for two years. Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, Amr Diab & Nancy Ajram also performed at the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab.
Elie Saab is the first Lebanese fashion designer to be admitted to the “Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture” and the first non-Italian designer to be accepted into the Camera Nazionale della Moda. His gowns were worn by famous celebrities and royalty all over the world, with the latest royalty being Kate Middleton who wore a Saab gown to the Royal Ascot in 2019.
