The Lebanese Ministry of Information tweeted yesterday that minister Abdel Samad has received an invitation to host the longest Zoom meeting in the world that is expected to last more than 28 hours. The event is organized by Lebanon news online and is expected to achieve a Guinness World Record for the longest virtual talk through Zoom. They will be discussing the COVID-19 pandemic and the meeting will include over 100 guests from the Arab World.
The organizers claim this event will be a gift to the Lebanese people but I still don’t see how. You want some media attention? Fine. You want to break a useless Guinness World Record? Fine. Does anyone in Lebanon care about such stuff? No.
The least you can do is raise some money during these 28 hours to help out people in need or specific NGOs or causes.
