Dubai will have its first Barbar restaurant as the famous Lebanese food outlet is set to open a 600 square meter branch located in Hessa street that will offer both dine-in and delivery services. Barbar’s expansion plan will include 8 restaurants and cloud kitchens in the UAE and 20 outlets in Saudi Arabia, four of which will start operating in the second semester of this year. Barbar will also open two restaurants in Qatar before the beginning of the football World Cup hosted by Doha in 2022.
Barbar started off as a small bakery in front of the Piccadilly theatre back in 1979 and became one of Beirut’s most popular fast food outlets. It’s always busy at Barbar’s numerous outlets and the place is always open. In fact, I believe the only time Barbar closed in the past 10 or 15 years was last year due to the COVID-19 lockdown. What makes Barbar special is the fast service and the fact that there’s something for everyone. Falafel, Grills, Shawarma, cold cuts, ice cream, cocktails, Juices etc.
