Miss Lebanon 2024 stunned the judges at Mis Universe 2024 with a traditional costume designed by Joe Challita, a Lebanese designer and proud advocate of Lebanon’s fashion heritage. The dress was a tribute to our rich Phoenician heritage and included a royal Tyrian purple dress, a Kobran traditional overcoat and a tantour headpiece.
Tyre of Ancient Phoenicia was one of the world’s first capital of fashion and the Tyrian purple symbolized ultimate power, status and wealth. Also in ancient Byzantium, imperial children were born in a Tyrian purple chamber, known as Porphyra, to symbolize their noble worth.
