Arte.tv is the latest to produce a report on Bargylus, often labeled as the world’s most dangerous wine.
Since the beginning of the war, as harvest is approaching, samples of grapes come from the Bargylus vineyard located close to the Syrian coastal city of Latakia all the way to Beirut so that Karim & Sandro Saade can taste the grapes to determine the harvest date. The vineyard is owned by the Saadé brothers that have been unable to the vineyard for more than six years now.
Bargylus is nowadays the only internationally recognised wine in the world today produced from grapes grown and picked in Syria and is one of my favorite wines, along with Marsyas which is also produced by the Saadé brothers.
