SPEAK UP COVID: Much-Needed Psychological Support for Health Care Workers

Everyone’s talking about providing health care workers with personal protective equipment, but there’s another crisis that few are tackling, which is how to mitigate or prevent more serious psychological or mental health issues that health care providers may experience as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tireless work and self-sacrifices that doctors, nurses and all health care workers are exhibiting shows the best of humanity, but responding to COVID-19 can take an emotional toll, which is why a group of Lebanese psychologists initiated an emotional support hotline for all front liners.

More than 25 licensed psychologists, working 7 days a week from 9AM till 9PM will be ready to answer calls from physicians, nurses, nursing aids, hospital/medical staff, red cross first responders and volunteers, and help them deal with their acute stress.

The number to call is: 79 120 570. You can check out their FB page for more information.

Awesome initiative in such unprecedented times.
