Lebanon broke three Guinness World Records this week, two linked to the Christmas season and a third organized by a local food wholesaler.
Longest Christmas Recital:
Kfardebian hosted an extraordinary Christmas music event: a 170-hour nonstop recital featuring continuous singing of Christmas hymns and carols. Organizers have structured it so the music never stops for the full 170 hours. The event took place at the “Sacré Coeur” School in Kfardebian and ran from December 16 to December 23.

Most letter sent to Santa in a single day (2924):
Batroun succeeded in collecting the largest number of letters written to Santa Claus within 24 hours, officially entering the Guinness World Records.
The record was achieved as part of the city’s “Batroun Capitale de Noël” Christmas celebrations, during which thousands of children and school groups gathered to write and submit their letters on the same day. The previous record stood at 2,144 letters, set by Global Village in Dubai in 2020.
Largest nuggets buckets:
Wilco, a Lebanese food wholesaler, set a new Guinness World Record for the largest bucket of chicken nuggets ever made. The feat was achieved during the Chekka Winter Festival.
The massive bucket contained 85,000 chicken nuggets, with a total weight of approximately 2,026 kilograms, making it the largest fried chicken nugget bucket in the world.
I’ll keep my comments to myself in the spirit of Christmas, but I hope we put more thought into the records we pursue in the year to come.
