For those of you who did not register yet to vote in the upcoming Lebanese elections, there is an option to choose “non sectarian” in the confession dropdown list.
I don’t know if this option was available during the past elections, but even if you could choose “non-sectarian”, it doesn’t really make any difference. In fact, I’m surprised they even considered adding it to the confessions given who’s been running the Interior & Foreign Affairs ministries for the past decade.
In all cases, even if you have to vote based on your confession next year, try to vote in a non-sectarian way 😁
You can choose ‘non sectarian’ when registering to vote in the Lebanese elections if you’re a resident of another country. What does this indicate? Absolutely nothing in practical terms. There are no seats for “non sectarians” in the parliament. pic.twitter.com/Ig4VrjiRzj
