70% Of Lebanese Want to Leave Lebanon

According to the below Al Jadeed report, immigration has dropped between 2019 and 2020 in Lebanon, but this is due to the pandemic, the travel restrictions as well as the economic crisis in Lebanon. In reality, the Canadian embassy alone has received over 130,000 applications last year and a recent survey has shown that 70% of Lebanese wish to immigrate.

I honestly don’t think we need statistics to know how many Lebanese have left or are working to leave. Those who have foreign passports are hesitant because they don’t have access to their money in Lebanese banks, while those applying are being delayed due to COVID-19 and also need their money to start over in a new country.

The decision to leave is very tough, but this rotten political class is not leaving us any other option, and they’re punishing families or individuals leaving by depriving them from their hard-earned savings.
