An online website (Zipjet) ranked the least and most stressful cities in the world using various factors such as green spaces, public transport, mental health, noise pollution, sunshine hours, air pollution, traffic and race equality. To come up with the list, they studied 500 locations based on data relating to the cities themselves, pollution, finance and the citizens. Within these, they analysed criteria such as traffic, security and mental health issues.
It’s not the most reliable study especially that it’s coming from an online laundry and dry cleaning service but the list does make sense.
Beirut was ranked 101st out of 150 cities and came behind Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Dubai, Doha, Manama, Muscat, Amman, Riyadh and Jeddah. The least stressful Arab city is Abu Dhabi while the most stressful one is Baghdad in Iraq.
