During the latest episode of MTV’s talk show Sar El Wa2et, host Marcel Ghanem and producer Nadim Mehanna (NMPRO Arts) announced the upcoming release of a new film honoring Mar Charbel, Lebanon’s most beloved and venerated saint. The movie is expected to be released soon. In the film, the character of Charbel is portrayed by four different actors, with Jerry Ghazal playing the younger version of Charbel and serving as the central figure of the story.
The movie delves deeply into the life of Saint Charbel, exploring key moments and details that shaped his spiritual journey. A trailer was unveiled during the episode, along with the launch of a national fundraising campaign aimed at helping the film reach a wide international audience. The campaign raised more than $1.3 million. Mar Charbel is credited with over 29,000 miracles and was canonized by the Catholic Church in 1977.
