It looks like Beirut Port is getting a major makeover that will include rehabilitating and extending the existing cargo area and infrastructure. I’m looking at the pictures of this new Port and it’s too good to be true.
We are talking about “5 administrative buildings over an area of 18,000 m2, a 10,000-m2 warehouse, a parking area for 700 cars and 250 container trucks, and a 2,000-m2 park”. Yes you heard me a park! In fact, the project is aimed “to create a community-oriented project on the waterfront that acts as a catalyst for regeneration of the port and the City of Beirut and accelerate the City’s transformation into a Mediterranean Cruise capital”.
I hope there are plans to revamp the whole Beirut Port staff as well. You can read more about this project [here].
