Businessnews reported last week that data consumption through mobile phones between 2016 and 2017 has increased by 78% for Alfa users and 66% for Touch users, and that the annual data consumption is expected to approach 40,000 TB for each operator by the end of 2018.
It only makes sense for mobile users to be consuming more data, especially with the wider spread of 4G and the ever-increasing use of social media and messaging/calling tools. Moreover, the fact that DSL speeds are still shit means people are more and more reliant on mobile internet. I personally upgraded my Alfa 4G subscription to 20GB a while back and barely use my DSL at home.
Looking at the Speedtest Global Index June 2018 rankings, Lebanon ranked 35th globally in mobile and 130th (Out of 133) in fixed broadband.
