“No Child Should Die of Heart Disease Because of a Lack of Funds” is The Brave Heart Fund’s mission and they’ve just kicked off this powerful TVC to raise awareness on the lack of funds to treat children with heart issues and how the cost of burying these children which are helplessly left to die is as much as the cost to treat them.
The Brave Heart Fund (BHF) is a charitable fundraising initiative, established in November 2003, at the Children’s Heart Center at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). The BHF helps cover the medical and/or surgical expenses for underprivileged children suffering from Congenital Heart Disease.
There are more than 650 babies diagnosed with malformations to the heart every year in Lebanon and the medical procedures and treatments vary from US$4,000 to US$30,000. Noting that an increasing number of families in Lebanon is lacking the funds to cover these expenses, and given that the survival rate is 98%, it is important to donate and help save a child’s life before it’s too late.
On another note, if you don’t feel comfortable donating money, 32 restaurants will be donating a percentage of their sales to the Brave Heart Fund including PAUL Arabia, La Mie Dorée, Balthazar Beirut, Karnaval, Tawlet, Meat the Fish, Lina’s Lebanon, OBI, La Parrilla, Em Sherif, Em Sherif Café, Balthus, Liza Beirut, BRGR Co., PZZA.CO, Deli.co, Ginette, Leila Min Lebnen, Urbanista, Oh Bakehouse, Olio Pizzeria, Soto, PRUNE French Bistro – Lebanon, Margherita pizzeria del quartiere dal 1959, Goutons Voir, Sursock Museum Resto, Burgundy, The Food Dealer and Acoté.
All you have to do is go enjoy your meal there on the 2nd of March and you will help save a child’s heart.
