This week marks the feast of the assumption of Mary, a feast celebrated mainly by Catholic Churches around the world. The assumption of Mary or (عيد السيده) is a very special in Lebanese villages mainly where festivals are held with all sort of fun and religious activities.
The Saint Charbel Paris in Ottawa organized their 29th Annual Family Gathering Around the Virgin Mary this year and as part of the week-long activities, they broke their own record for the longest Markouk Labneh sandwich with a 30.5m sandwich.
It’s clearly an easily breakable record but it’s meant for the fun and everyone gets to eat so why not 😁. Usually I am not a big fan of such activities in Lebanon given the situation but Ottawa is a rather laid back, stress-free town.
