AUBMC is raising awareness through the below video on the dangers of smoking Shisha and how many perceive it as being less harmful than cigarettes. In order to do so, they teamed with a Shisha restaurant and served clients a pipe with a pack of cigarettes on top. Shisha smokers may inhale as much smoke during 1 hour as a cigarette smoker would inhale consuming 100 or more cigarettes.
Shisha is extremely misunderstood by smokers. The cancer-causing toxins combined with the carbon monoxide poisoning risk of burning coal can lead to an array of health problems ranging from heart disease to stomach ulcers, or even stomach cancer as well as cancer to the lungs, mouth and throat. There’s also a great risk of asthma and other respiratory disease. [Source]
The worst part is that most of these Shisha places are dirty and don’t meet hygiene standards. Do yourself a favor and stop smoking Shisha!
