First the monument was vandalized, then cleaned up, then destroyed and now the Lebanese Army has put another one back in place. The new monument is a donation from the Donnieh youth as mentioned here.
To be honest, I knew there was a conflict over Qornet el Sawda but I had no idea things were so tense. Maybe it’s better if they remove the whole monument all together and place it somewhere else because this is getting ridiculous. Last week, I got a video of people on ATVs getting fired at on the summit and another video of armed convoys roaming the summit.
