A mosaic representing Saint Charbel will be put on display in St Peter’s Basilica today at 7pm. Saint Charbel is a Lebanese Maronite monk and priest who was beatified in 1965 and venerated as a saint in 1977 Pope Paul VI. His tomb at Saint Maron’s Monastery in Annaya is among the most visited religious sites in Lebanon and he has long been known as the “Miracle Monk of Lebanon”.
Back in 2017, a shrine dedicated to St Charbel was also inaugurated at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.
