I admire Elias el Rahbani as a composer and an artist and I’ve been to two of his concerts however I don’t think he should be complaining about how bad Lebanese music is these days when he’s giving songs for Haifa and Myriam Klink.
Needless to say, he’s free to do whatever he wants and he can give Rola Yammout songs for all I care but he’s definitely not bringing back Lebanon’s glory days by working with such artists.
I don’t get it when someone says music has reached a new low. Throughout history, there has always been good and mediocre singers.
In my opinion we have some amazing new talent.
But the Lebanese audience is much more inclined to listen to Ali El Deek nowadays.
Ahla shi ali el deek!!
Did he hear about Mashrou3 leila? Adonis? Yasmine Hamdan ? Ibn el Leil is a REVOLUTION in the history of Lebanese music. So instead of focusing, like usual, on the mediocre stuff, maybe we should pay attention and acknowledge the awesome work that is being done by some.
He meant that “profit” from music industry has reached a new low. At the end, he’s free to compose for Justin Bieber if he wants, although he might lose some of his prestige vis-a-vis the audience.
