The guy threatening and swearing is Mustapha Qawas, the head of the Baath party in Saida and he made all this fuss because his nephew was denied some medicine because he didn’t have money to pay for it. Very manly of him to take it against a woman.
Will the poor pharmacy owner dare press charges against him? I guess not.
Will we hear about this guy getting arrested anytime soon? I don’t think so.
via NowLebanon
Update: The guy was arrested and put in jail. Glad I was wrong for a change. He will be out in a few days but I guess he learned his lesson. Thank you Rana!
ma t2oul illa enno min 7izb el-ba3th.
The guy probably wont get arrested immediately – and the March14 team should bring this out in every forum available to them – make a big deal about it – about stability vs justice – like what they have in their policy statement.
The March8 team made a huge issue about the false wittnesses few months ago. Today – thanks to video surveillance – all of Lebanon is a wittness to their thuggery – they should be shouting this out from the rooftops!
Shame on people like that, he should be arrested immediatly! The baath party and the lebanese forces are the only 2 parties that are based on violence! Bashar and Samir are so similar! To jail both of them!
Wow … just wow …
Great place to live. I’d like to see this tough guy come over into the west and let’s see how his “Lebanese Mucho macho” will last. It takes a “great” man to intimidate a poor woman.
ba3ed fi a2raf men heik?
The baath is almost dead. This asshole’s time will come soon enough.
Comment from Nowlebanon.com :
“They did call the police. They locked him up. A day afterwards he was supposed to be released but they slapped him with another suit. He’s still in jail 🙂 Now he probably realizes that Baas stopped being relevant 10 years ago. ”
He deserves to be hanged by the balls !
Not sure why you would bring politics into this Najib. So what if he is from a certain party? It’s his actions that matter and not what political belief he’s from or what his favorite taouk place is.
Mark,
I just pasted the info from nowlebanon and the dude tells us all who he is in the video. I changed the title on purpose to angry dude if you noticed to avoid politisizing it.
Seems he is not man enough to face the poor lady without some political ego involved.
Mark I think he thinks that he can do whatever he wants to do to “Akbar 2adee” because of his political affiliation. We also know that this abaday and other abadays are usually not arrested because of their respective political affiliation whether it’s from 8 or 14 of march… So IMO Najib was not wrong in mentioning it.
This is a disgrace… I’m so proud of this woman she’s so brave.. really!!! she stood her ground even though he could’ve pummeled her face!! I’m glad he’s arrested…hope he rots there.
Mark.. the guy was shouting out that he’s from baath party, he’s showing ppl that they are the “untouchables” and are above the law. I wished you showed some disdain against him instead of najib.
disgusting!!
There was nothing wrong in mentioned which political party this guy belongs to, its because of his position he did this, so mentioning the party he belongs to makes sense, and its good he mentioned it.
The woman was quiet brave in her stand, well done to her, not only did she had to deal with this pig twice, she also had to deal with the fainted domestic worker. Good to hear he was arrested, and still hasnt gone out, but lets hope we dont anything to these two after he is out.
This is what our country is turning into, and with the political mess we are in, events like these will continue to take place….
this piece of shit is so disgusting. i found him on facebook and feel like befriending him just to curse the shit out of him! tfeh.
To Antonio above – please find me one instance where the LF have behaved in such a fashion!
People like the man in the video disgust me, people like you disgust me just a little less.
Please guys let us keep this from becoming another endless political debate.
Thumbs up to LebExile.
this guy ken mrasha7 bi intikhabet saida la yitla3 neyib against bahia l hariri…imagine that
You see why you shouldn’t have turned this post political. It’s hard not to respond to antonio who seems to be delusional.
The assailants crime has nothing to do with his affiliation with a political party and more to do with a Lebanese malaise of “assuming” (and most often being right)to be above the law. The “who do you know” syndrome seems totally ingrained in the culture.
Whatever I would have said ya Mark would not have stopped this post from having few answers with some politics in them. Remember this is Lebanon and partying could turn political
WoW…talk about sexual depression, perhaps this guy was really manhandled when he was a child…sheesh.. I’d like to take a baseball bat to his “b%^&&” and show him how god really sounds when he’s talking with respect… you got to love the Hypocrisy, and that woman is my new hero, i had a feeling she was going to bitch slap him at some point…if he wanted to hurt someone he would have already did after the first minute, but he’s a woosy..all talk and blabber no go…
anyway, in response to Antonio and Leb Exile; Dear Antonio, this is no place to mention such a response, the post is about a man’s disturbing irresponsible and unsponsored behavior, the Party has nothing to do with it. and to link him to another Party is even dumber and short sighted.
LebExile, you seem to me that you haven’t been in Lebanon for a while (no shit Sherlock award of the day for me :), perhaps you weren’t around in the ‘mid to late 80s’… I forgive your ignorance, because blogs and papers never mentioned what actually happened on the streets and in neighborhoods… LF units didn’t terrorize people in the Pharmacies, they came over and delivered to your house, for a fee with guns, in front of the kids (that’s me) so, as delusional and short sighted as Antonio’s comment was, it has a glimmer of a point… (quite a blinding one actually)
Sorry Najib/Mark/Chahe, I had to respond
Romman,
The LF did some nasty shit during the war, and so did everyone else. My point being that you cannot compare what this thug is doing today – where the entire population is disarmed (almost), and the country has seen relative peace for the better part of 20 years, with what happened during the civil war.
Different time, different circumstances.
Many different groups were affected by the civil war, The LF weren’t the only thugs on the streets back then, and hopefully that sorry period is not repeated. But seriously, do you consider it fair to compare what this thug did in 2011 with what the LF did back in the 80’s. And if so – why not mention all the other militia’s that did the same if not worse during that period!
just saying
Guys & Gals
I am sure everyone has a story to tell from a horrific past. This post has nothing to do with it. So either man/woman up; and stick to the topic or I feel the wrath of Mark/ Najib anytime soon.
LebExile..I’m responding to your and Antonio’s bickering cause both of you were wrong in your comments….
Jeff, it’s not about telling stories, just setting the record straight…with a personal experience
Sorry guys but I am gonna close this post.
