“ألف ليرة أضيفت على كل نفس “أرغيلة” في المقاهي والفنادق”.
I’m still trying to understand what they mean by “Nafass” Arguile. Are they referring to every flavored tobacco change or every Arguile order? Either way, this “allegedly” newly introduced tax is a disgrace and yet another proof of short-sightedness from the government.
We have an Arguile epidemic in the country, the smoking law is not being respected, Arguile places are not regulated, teenagers are seen smoking the Hookah almost anywhere you go, hygiene standards are not respected and you can get an Arguile delivered to your home for as little as 3000 or 4000LL.
With all these factors in place, the government is planning to tax every Arguile or “nafass” Arguile by LL1000 to help reduce the deficit. In other words, instead of launching national campaigns to cut down smoking and reduce health-related expenses on the long term, they’re making sure people will still smoke Shisha in order to generate more revenue from them.
I suggest they take this to the next level: Tourism Minister should introduce tax-free Arguile shops for tourists to boost tourism 😂. Also students get a special discount in Arguile shops and only have to pay the tax fee. By the way, where’s the Health Minister from all that?
