I am not sure what she meant by this reply but it didn’t sound right at all. She could have condemned domestic violence and that’s about it.

It’s not our right to say she should this or she should that. Badda haybi bil bet, tostofil. May her husband smash her head with tanjaret daghet if she likes it. To each his own, and when we say she should this or we should that, we’re cancelling other people’s opinions, whether we like it or not.
Jad,
I believe that she’s a role model to a lot of Lebanese and Arabs and should set an example for others to follow. That’s how I meant it but you are right and I put “could” instead of “should” even though the bigger issue here is her vague reply and not that 🙂
Thanks!
Said the lady that admires Adolf Hitler
Maybe she meant that “el bayt” Syria and Bashar El Assad and his regime is “el haybeh”. She’s talking in a metaphorical way I guess trying to imply that she does not like “the house” to be as free as it is at the moment.

Shi** I read that as el 3onf bi soorya I was half asleep
hahahaa you’re hilarious
I really don’t believe that any of these celebrities are role models in any way. They have nice voices, and they’re good at what they do, but that’s that. Asking someone to be an “angel” for people to follow is really just hypocrite. We should really get over this Arab mentality. She can be whatever she wants, although I absolutely disagree with what she’s saying..
This has nothing to do with Arab mentality, Public figures normally influence the public. Hence, the people that follow her on Twitter and Facebook aren’t looking forward to hear her voice via a tweet.
@najwa: how irrisponsible my dear.
You’re right. This is also occurring in the West, but in the West they are more open minded to start with. You’re right, it is not a statement to make, but every person makes the statement they want to make. Who are we to tell her what or what not to say. I can say I’m with Adolf Hitler, and if you don’t like it, well that’s your problem, don’t listen to me. You know what I’m saying? 🙂
It is a kown fact that celebrities (whether we like it or not, approve it or not) do influence their followers, especially the young ones.
All over the world celebrities are criticized or what they do or say, because they influence their fan .
So lets not make it an arab issue. It is a morals issue : It is not normal to accept domestic violence, or any kind of violence

Her opinion is clear. She could have just said that Domestic violence is wrong instead. But you can’t blame a woman who grew up in the farms
I use to love Njawa, her beauty and voice .. until she sold out and started giving her opinions publicly. She has every right to do so, but then again, we as fans have every right not to support her. Celebrities have every right to speak their mind, but the entertainment industry is a business like any other business and when you choose to speak without thinking how it will effect others, your business may be effected and negatively criticized.
