I haven’t been to Restaurant Leila since it relocated to a new location still within the ABC mall until today. The place now is much bigger and tables are more distant, which is great. The food was also still as good as ever but the thing that made my day that the fact that they put the toilets at the same level as the restaurant.
I am saying this because one had to go down some 20-30 steep stairs to get the toilets in their previous branch which was very annoying and this applies to many restaurants in Lebanon, like Roadster Hamra, TGI Fridays in Maameltein, Crepaway Kaslik etc …
But this is how it’s done; in Europe all the WCs are one level below the restaurant. I’m not sure why though, for hygiene & sanitation purpose maybe?
Well in Roadster Hamra, the WC is on the same level the Kitchen is, so something is not right here.
I thought of hygiene purposes but you can do toilets on the same level with the proper hygienic settings. There are many restaurants who have it so why not?
Michele,
I feel that you’re an expert in restaurants :p you should work as mystery customer and write articles about them :p
next time i’m lost on where to go, i’ll ask or your advice 😀
well the mc donald’s restaurants in france have their toilets just beside the area where customers queue to order…
Leila are great. I have them here in Kuwait for lunch practically on a daily basis.]
I am not an expert in Restaurant architecture but my guess would be the location of the restrooms would be predicated on necessity of available usable space. If there would be dead space in the “basement” then why not put it there? Off course that would mean older or disabled clientele won’t be able to utilize the rooms if proper elevators are not built in.
Johnny.B u know where to find me! 😉
And Gianni, I guess u might be right! See u are doing it again!
Michelle…My bella I just cannot help myself. 😀
