According to Gallup World Poll, Lebanon ranked #73 in the list of world’s happiest countries. I wouldn’t say I am too surprised. The strange thing is the top 5 happiest countries are Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Netherlands which are located right next to each other. I guess there’s something in their water? [Link]
Netherlands it’s weed.
The others it’s beer.
If that was true we would be ranked #1 since we have the best beer in the world.
A successful social system, more like.
15 % suffering 64% struggling? I think we are ranked at 73 because we are known for complaining a lot
Mark,
We maybe do but how many do drink alcohol in Lebanon 😉
Scandaniavian countries have the highest rates of suicide, so i dont know about “happy”
I think its related to the culture/spirit of our people; Lebanese people in general love to nag and dream of migrating to a Western country where their dreams and aspirations might be fulfilled… Even if they’re making a good living here, own a house & car, and party every other day!
And then again, what is happiness? And how can it be quantified? 🙂
Interesting post Mark – thanks for sharing.
