Since the beginning of 2025, at least 70 people have been killed in 144 traffic accidents across Lebanon, according to YASA. In addition to that, 199 people have been injured.

The roads in Lebanon are becoming deadlier every year, yet there seems to be no one taking action to stop reckless drivers from putting their lives—and the lives of others—at risk on the highways. What’s even more troubling is when people seem more interested in the type of car involved in the crash and its value, rather than the casualties caused by the accident.

Going back to the main point here, I’m not sure why the cops aren’t taking any measures to stop this madness when we keep seeing on social media channels videos of cars racing and speeding like crazy on the highway.
