The first ranked university of the Middle East is King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (Ranked 216 worldwide), followed by the American University of Beirut (Ranked 250th worldwide) and King Saud University in the 253rd rank internationally. AUB managed to keep the same position as last year.
As far as other Lebanese universities are concerned, only USJ made the list in the 638th rank. LAU was no where to be seen.
The top 10 schools for the year 2013 were as follows:
1- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
2- Harvard University
3- University of Cambridge
4- UCL (University College London)
5- Imperial College London
6- University of Oxford
7- Stanford University
8- Yale University
9- University of Chicago
10- California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
You can check out the full list [Here].
Bullshit rankings. The source has no credibility. I know of a lot of top schools in the US that didn’t even make it in the list…
Also what’s their ranking Criteria again?
this is actually accurate, ive seen from the original source, also…what is higher ranking than MIT and Harvard in the US?
While MIT and Harvard are in the top 10 Universities, the whole US (even Universities themselves) have always used the following:
http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities
Take a look and compare against this list after the top 10…
Also take a look at this from the link above (after you filter by state == PA)
Villanova University
Villanova, PA
#1, Regional Universities (North) $44,580 7,100 45.62%
How come the number 1 university in the north US is no where in the 700+ list??
For full disclosure this is where I went for my MS 🙂
Did u not count Hebrew University of Jerusalim as middle east? Because they rank 141 which makes SUB not second I guess!!!
Israel University of Technology is ranked 183 which makes AUB not even 3rd!!! Or may be I am missing something. Could you explain!
Why are you getting all worked up Dr?
Israel is not recognized as a sovereign state by Lebanon, Najib’s interpretation that AUB is 2nd in the Middle East holds.
You’re welcome citizen
*AUB ELITIST MODE ON*
FUCK YEAH AUB!
Its ok not to recognise it as a sovereign state, am very pleased with that but I think you need to acknowledge that they have a better education system than urs to start with then maybe you may progress and prosper. But I guess the lebanese mind lives in its own reality, a different one from our world and this is what saddens me. We have all the potential to be great but instead we have the most fucked up, messed up country…..by the way the israeli unis are government funded tell me where is ur sovereign state Lebanon standing!!! Oh I also forgot Tel Aviv uni is also ranked better than AUB making AUB 5th.
I went to the 17th best. Damn!
QC is bribed every year to come up with these lists based on hash foundations. If you search the site you find that Israeli universities are ranked highest, and the Emirates are the only Arab states mentioned as a good place to study.
