I spotted this on the Jounieh highway right before the bridge leading you to Fouad Chehab stadium. No clue as to whom it belongs to or what is its purpose though.

Someone died on that spot, his family erected this pieta. Dunno if they got a permit for it anyway

yes it’s true their son died in a car accident so they decided to do this memorial. they were putting a report on it on MTV news the other day. they did get a permit from the minister of public works ghazi el aridi & it was done in coordination with minister of interior baroud.
so their son died at this spot, so they erect an additional hazard that if some other hapless drunk kid runs into will die instantaneously? This planting a monument made out of granite probably every-time there is a fatality on the highway is so 16th century… lay some flowers, a wooden cross that will not harm anyone in the future and that’s that…
