There’s an auction house in Beirut called “Démodé” that offers its customers an arguile (hookah) while they place their bids. “Démodé” was founded in 2016 and sells antiques and collectibles from all over the world, including glassware, rugs, paintings, furniture, metals, stoneware, porcelain, and more. It is located on Airport Road inside Assaha Restaurant.

I watched some of the auctions and was surprised to see so many antique lovers. It’s still funny, though, to see all of them smoking arguile, and the best part is that there are “no smoking” tables, as if that would make a difference in a closed hall.
