Lebanon’s Minister of Education announced yesterday the results of the official exams for the intermediate certificate and the success rate reached 82.31% compared to 81.78% in 2017 and 75.90% in 2016. While the success rate has improved from past years, it is still surprisingly low given how easy the Brevet exams are and the unfortunate widespread cheating during these exams.

Instead of removing the exam as it was suggested a couple of years ago, it should be kept permanently in my opinion and the ministry should get proper supervisors to eliminate all sorts of cheating and penalize students and teachers who do.
