LOLLLLLL! no way! this guy will get fired if it goes viral. Not a good call on his part. Funny though! I’d want him to act more professional in a darak outfit though.
Najib, why are you talking to yourself? where’s Gianni’s comment?
not really sure you should be deleting comments dudes, it kinda works against the spirit of blogging… or at least you could set up guidelines and ‘rules of the house’ for commenting so that whoever breaks them will be served within these guidelines…just saying
Back to subject, this guy will be flying as fast a chicken from the Weak (opposite of force)…
Anyway, caught a traffic daraki doing something a bit similar on the Ashrafieh Sassine intersection. which i had a phone cam, he was directing traffic while playing a scene from Swan Lake…Hilarious…
Ronman I deleted the comment not Najib. Deleting comments doesn’t work against the spirit of blogging, not sure how you got that idea. Blogging and commenting on a post are completely two different things. Commenting is a privilege not a right and comments that attack people, racist, discriminatory in anyway etc.. will be deleted.
Blogging and the discussion that follows is the epitome of free speech, I agree that this does not mean attacks, flaming, foul language and overall obscenity racism etc..should be accepted, be it if was toward the blogger himself or fellow commentators.
What i meant was that you should publish rules of the house which mean that no one can argue if a post was deleted, even the offender. and two offenses should ensue a ban…
as long as you delete comments without saying it or having a guideline for doing it, you are in fact suppressing opinions…
so when you delete any comment, you should mention that this comment was deleted because it breaches the house rules…make it known that there is such a thing…that would be the fairest thing…
by the way, commenting on a blog post is neither a right, nor a privilege, it’s a choice to get into the discussion and express a personal opinion or share a similar story, hopefully within the rules of respect, decency and overall common sense…
There is no way to ban people from commenting and I expect people to have common sense when doing so. I’m not a teacher or an organization where I have to teach you how to comment or list a bunch of rules and guidelines for you to follow. This isn’t the SAT’s or Formula 1.
You post an attack, it gets deleted. I don’t need to explain myself. If you don’t understand why your comment got deleted tough luck, just figure it out.
I agree Mark, but the blogs you listed mostly blog reviews and opinions about products and stuff…
when a blog expresses opinion that might clash with a commenter it would be wise to use rules…I’m not saying you have to
look at Blog Baladi’s history, only in posts where you, Najib, and Chahe express your own opinion (however polar or neutral) do you get a bit of argument in the comments, usually when it’s just a review or such you get either complimentary, approval, or story sharing comments, never an argument…
on the other hand, *ttac.com, autoblog.com, Jalopnik.com, all still considered blogs offer comments with a bit of a guideline set up, people will always need to herded, unfortunately,
*this one usually publishes heavily polarized comments about the industry, inviting a heck of a lot of heavy language and flaming, which is always kept in check. check the link for the idea…
A review and opinions about products are still opinions and still clash with a commenter. If engadget trashes a canon you can bet the canon fanboys will be all over it.
As I said I like to treat everyone like adults so no need to place any rules. If someone does do something wrong though comment will get deleted and life moves on.
U’re welcome Mark! Belive me the song is my least issue 🙂
Give him two Chicken Chawarmas and he will strip for you lol
That is your biggest issue with this video?

Gianni,
Why did you assume such a thing? I am not defending Mark or anything but what’s the point of such a comment?

other than that, keep it up

I go on a lot of Blogs that have Rules of the house that are enforced…it should be a function on the commenting platform…
i guess you can link your above comment as a rough draft of the house rules 😉
there are blogs that have rules, there are blogs that don’t have rules and there are blogs that just don’t allow commenting at all.
Check gizmodo and engadget, they don’t list rules. Thats because they expect people to have common sense.
Check kottke or daringfireball, they don’t even allow comments and that doesn’t make them less of a blog or crappy either.
Be responsible, we’re all adults here.

you can keep it fairly simple and post a (keep it clean in the comments) at the end of every post….
A review and opinions about products are still opinions and still clash with a commenter. If engadget trashes a canon you can bet the canon fanboys will be all over it.

Fanboys don’t apply LOL 😛
