I wish all stories end the way this one did. The victim was unhurt and the criminal caught. More importantly, people did not overreact and kill the man but waited for the cops to come. If only Myriam was that lucky!

i know he was doing something bad by trying to kidnap the kid but once someone had him they didn’t have to treat him this way. Very uncivilized on their part.
Im sorry mariam I do not concur at all with your sayings. The father of the little Nicolas should have broke his both arms . That’s what a man who attempt to kidnap a kid deserves, whether its civilized or not.
excuse me mariam, but i bet if someone touched one hair of your child you will do much much more than just beat the guy. i am a peaceful mother, but if i were them i would do much worse. uncivilized reaction for sure but a human reaction 100%.
Bonanza, I know. I’m not in their situation but at the end of the day it wasn’t just the father who was there. There was also other people who could’ve held on to the guy instead of beating him. Human reaction or not, its wrong, very much like killing someone out of anger- and due to human reaction in a certain situation would be.
Mariam,
It is an impulsive reaction and a violent one but somehow moderate. Remember what they did to the guy who killed an old couple a year ago or more? How they killed him and slaughtered him and hung him up in the middle of the town?
The father followed him and beat him up and arrested him. He did not kill him or shoot him or break any of his bones.
I don’t 100% agree with what happened, but it’s easier said than done. It’s very hard to judge a person in such circumstances.
I agree. I mean in all cases, we can understand anger but seeing that there were people who were not directly related to the child it could have been avoided.
Either way, I’m not judging them per se.. this has to do more with structure of the country then people themselves. In Canada, if the cops saw this- the father or whoever would be arrested too for assault. Its how law works when there is law. Lebanon lacks laws. So people react as they please.
i agree with Mariam… human nature doesn’t include beating anyone, what humans naturally do is wait for the police and have an investigation, then a trial, and the culprit will be punished.
if bonanza’s human reaction is to beat people, i hope bonanza doesn’t leave her house much.
Lol funny Mark! hahaha
Hahaha! Lol 😉 ur so cool
it seems the tv crew got there before the police.
There is just one side of the story, by only one person (the helper), enno if the man really wanted to take the baby wouldnt he have taken him? i mean im sure he is physically stronger than the helper!! Plus, would he really want to do this during the day in the most crowded area of Jdeideh??
I feel something is missing!
And of course i agree with miriam, lebanese people LOVE tragedy, they are somehow like trained dogs: they just need to hear the “attack” for them to start hitting without any proof.
ironicly, i feel bad for the man, this is how people’s barbaric behavior turn the “potential” criminal to a victim; Chapeau les gars!
