I am heading in 2 hours or so to Kobayyat, a town in the district of Akkar in the North. It’s a town almost at the borders with Syria and takes a 2 hours or 2 hours and a half drive from Jounieh. I haven’t done such road trips since a long time, so I kinda am looking forward to it, even though many warned me that the road is not that good, long and tiring.
Kobayat is a very big town for those unaware of it and even has its own website which is pretty cool. [Website]
I am not planning on taking my computer with me since I will be back by tomorrow and don’t expect to find any internet up there. You never realize how much you are hooked on the internet until you do such trips. It’s been since ever that I was unable to go online for more than 24 hours.
Anyway, hope you are enjoying your holidays and Happy Easter again!
So they have a website, but they don’t have internet? 😛
Enjoy it man!
I’m from that village! And they have a wifi connection that spans the entire village! Enjoy it!
Am kind of spending easter with family in the village. You would expect to spend less time on the internet since am not using my laptop but turns out i use the wireless on my fonefor longer periods
Elhaddad
Someone living in beirut could have created the website.
Nevertheless it has Internet cafes and wireless and GPRS works so guess I was wrong 🙂
Crazy town though no one sleeps lol
They have internet, pretty much all of Akkar does. But no cable connection, they stopped the cable internet at Halba. We are in the US, and it’s very annoying that I can talk to all my relatives wherever they are in Lebanon on skype, except not the ones in Akkar because the connection is too slow for skype there. They have been promising to continue the cable into the villages past halba for almost two years now… There is so many problems in Lebanon that need attention and no one to pay attention, so many projects started and no one to finish them.
