I always pass by this huge flag at Sin el Fil’s entrance but was never able to get a good shot of it. Well thanks to traffic and winds blowing, I was able to do so today.
Too bad it’s not the tallest flag pole in the world; those behind it should be ashamed of themselves for not breaking another Guinness record when doing it.
Thank God though we have the world’s largest flag, or else I don’t know how we could have lived with ourselves. [Link]
Why is it there anyway?
Such a stupid question Marie!
I love the idea of having such a big flag close to my office. but i thought the one on the border of the demilitarized zone in North Korea is the Largest Flag in the world, or is it the largest flag in the world that is actually on a mast.
the one on the Abu Dhabi Cornish is quite big as well…
No clue Marie. Maybe it’s Ronman who requested it.
Najib, if you remember the Lebanese anthem is stolen, you can tell how deep my patriotism to this country goes… 😉
but on another less humorous note, These big Flags usually spread around a country act as an instigator of pride and patriotism and feeling of belonging for people…
But sadly in Lebanon not many people give the Flag the respect it deserves or should deserve (by the book) we are a country that keep the independence flags decorating our light-poles up until they turn colorless and into garbage and are disposed of… so a giant flag like this won instigates wonderment rather than pride…
