Every time I go down to Lebanon I eat at the same places which are basically Roadster, Napolitana, Frulatte, Mano, Canadian Burger and sajj from this old chick near my house. I only stay in Lebanon for a few days and I’m not the type of person that just walks into a random place for lunch which is why I rely on recommendations a lot or I just end up sticking to my regular places.
So my question is what restaurant should I pass by while I’m in Lebanon?
My top 3 list :
– Semsom – for an excellent Lebanese Cuisine With a Twist (Citymall, Ashrafieh, Le Mall)
– éCafé – (French and Mediterranean cuisine Restaurant located in “Edde Yard” Byblos Old Souk)
– TGI Friday’s – (Downtown)
ElMolino. Mexican Restaurant, Jbeil.

Did you never try Classic Burger Joint in Achrafieh? You’d LOVE it knowing your lust for burgers 😛
Because of my lust for burgers I would most probably be disappointed by the burgers in Lebanon. I should give it a shot though.
You should try Sotto, the Hamra branch though, nicer than Gemmayzeh
Schtroumpf has a nice salad bar, as well as good platters
thx zaydoun very nice list 🙂
Two new-ish favorites of mine are Coqueley in Gemmayze and Relais Foch near the souks downtown (not sure if they’re serving dinner yet, but lunch & breakfast are excellent).
How about you Mum’s food Mark, since you’re back home for a short while? 😛
lol I don’t eat home cooked food.
have u tried Bob’s?
i tried it this friday. Nice menu and fast service
try lord of the wings. kamen delicious bugers
Didn’t try Bob’s (looks like an imitation of Johnny Rockets) but I did try Lord of the Wings and I found their burgers terrible.
Bob’s is average and not that good.
How about you try The Lahm Baajin Empire (Ambaratoriyyit el Lahm Baajin) in Hrajel?
sounds like my place 🙂
@ Mark You should, it’s healthy and you can have a great variety while sticking to your healthier diet plan. nothing like a home made a la crazy chef (you) triple burger..
LOTW used to have better burgers in the beginning, then it went in free fall…we don’t go there anymore.
And man do i miss Johnny Rockets…did you have to remind me?
And yes Najib comes again with a great coment, the Ambaatoriyet Lahm Beajine is good, you can also try a Falafel at Abu Fadi or any other manoushe or lah beajjine. Abu Fadi is a shop facing the upper gate of the St Joseph School in Antoura, on the Ain el Rihani road. we used to jump the fence to eat there as kids, and stop there whenever i drive buy…worth a try, and the road there is a very nice drive in the morning…
my built in spell check is off today, forgive the typos…
I will take you if you’ll still be here on Saturday.
Abou Joseph / Zalka highway 😀
Bobs Diner is a lot better than Roadersters Mark and their burgers are pretty good compared to other Lebanese places.
Also, they are a JR imitation, they have pretty good milkshakes.
We are so glad that Roadster diner is one of your destinations when you are in town 🙂
Hope to see you soon

Hey Mark… nice name (if it wasn’t for the k) 🙂
If you want burgers that compare to the U.S. it’s either Burger Nation in Hamra or Brgr Co. in Ashrafieh… the rest is a la libanaise (kafta)
Brgr co. is definitely a must go.
@Joey if you’re a millionaire yeah! 😛
I get the same beef at BN at half the price!!!
Economy crisis still hurts ya know!
Bob s Verdun was good last summer
How could it be the same beef at half price, I don’t recall having seen a burger at burger nation for 7,000LL…
Anyhow you can’t compare, Brgr co. Is just up there, in a league of it’s own…
Enjoy marC..looll!!!
