This is an excerpt from LeMonde’s article on the gay community in Lebanon written back in June 2012. The same “examination” described above was performed on the 36 men arrested few days ago “for alleged gay debauchery after MTV show unveiled activity in porn cinemas“. By the by, this vaguely reminds me of the rumors of a scandal involving some high-ranking personalities and famous artists quite some time ago (nineties..), and back then, SLCHI Na3eem Haléwé created a sketch in reference where he played the role of a musician who lost his musical instrument -an Organ- and was roaming the street asking everyone “الأورغي Ùيين؟؟؟” (Egyptian accent)..
and if my memory does not fail me, this lead to his arrest by a passing cop… and he was the ONLY one to get (wrongfully) busted in the case 🙂

But if it’s a semi-public spot that caters to sexual activities, and all involved are aware of this, then it shouldn’t be against the law. Sex clubs, cinemas, bookshops, etc. etc. are all over the place in Europe and North America.
