The below video was shared by the Lebanese Eco Movement yesterday. If I’m not mistaken, one of the spots shown is one of the most beautiful ones in Jannet Artaba that was featured in Live Love Lebanon’s promotional video.
What is happening is a crime against nature. I thought works were suspended until further notice but obviously that’s not the case.
Yes it os cruel, but if a dam is well planned and executed it can actually florish the valley and bring diverse wild life. There are many examples in europe. However I dont trust our governments even to grow potatoes
Calling to stop a dam in Lebanon is an act of insanity, if not stupidity.
Go count the dams build in countries like Canada, switzerland where rainfall and natural lacs are abundant, and where millions of trees were cut in the process.
the government already paid over 100 million dollars to a private company to start constructing Janna Dam, stopping it now will not only make us lose a golden opportunity to gain more water and clean power, but will actually jeopardize a budget of 250 million dollars that was planned for it!
if you love trees that much go and make posts on Fattoush and Murr and Berri destroying our beautiful mountains for selfish corrupted reasons!
